At the start of the summer BD Network contacted us to create a large sphere branded to look like a giant tennis ball on one side, marketing Mario Tennis Open, and on the other side carrying the logo for Nintendo DS. Interestingly one of the biggest hurdles for this job was the tennis ball fabric. While the UK still produces a lot of tennis ball fabric, it generally gets exported in large rolls to other countries to be made up into tennis balls. It’s therefore really difficult to source small quantities of it. In the end we gave up and by mixing paint to match the colour of a tennis ball, we created the look almost identically using felt.
Looks smashing doesn’t it.
