We were commissioned by South Paw Dance Company to create a touring, motor powered fairground carousel to use as an outdoor performance space for one of their productions.
The Carousel was a 6 metre wide revolving platform with a central pole supporting a canopy roof. The Carousel was built on a trailer so that it could be transported and set up easily.
The carousel was a fully functioning merry-go-round, and provided the centre piece for an edgy story of the enigmatic characters who inhabit the fairground. The decor was hand designed and painted and was in keeping with the vintage style of a gypsy carousel.
