Origanoes indeed!

We’ve been busy this month creating origami canoes for as charity event we’re organising.

It’s called Canoe The Thames and is a chance for you to raise money for charity as you canoe the entire length of the navigable non-tidal Thames from Cricklade in the beautiful Cotswolds down to Teddington Lock in West London. The trip will take you through almost 132 miles of beautiful English countryside over 8 days in summer.

Each participant paddles in a handmade flat-packed origami canoe. Designed and made by Plunge.

The canoe prototypes were initially designed in 2003 for a canoeing weekend in the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Since then they have been through various reincarnations and have been seen on the backwaters of Kerela in Southern India.

They will soon be available to buy! If you’re interested then drop us an email and as soon as they are ready for sale we’ll get in touch.

here are some photos of the canoes in their various incarnations over the years.
