AMD Interior Architecture contacted us to help them with an element of a pop-up space they were creating for Bella Dahl. As a centrepiece for the space in Selfridges, AMD wanted to create a friendship tree that would symbolise reconnection as we start to emerge out of lockdown.

Bella Dahl uses a lot of ’Tencel’ fabric to manufacture their clothes which is a naturally-sourced fabric. The idea was to make the entire tree out of natural, sustainably sourced materials which is how the concept of driftwood for the tree trunk was arrived at and then Tencel fabric for the leaves.   The leaves needed to be fabricated in such a way that they could hold their shape so that customers could write messages or names on them.  The Tencel fabric for the leaves was all hand-dyed here at the workshop.

The end result:  this beautiful driftwood tree in Bella Dahl signature colours.
