Plunge is a creative, busy and diverse company. We have a multitude of different projects on the go at any one time. Our teams work across several buildings on one site which means there can be lots of moving between the different workspaces, particularly when it’s busy.

The Production Scheduler & Logistics Planner will play a crucial role in optimising Plunge Creations’ efficiency and ensuring seamless production and logistics workflow across the company. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining production and logistics schedules, assessing resource requirements, coordinating production workflow and, implementing strategies to enhance overall productivity throughout the company.

General job description:

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice capacity planning, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance within Plunge Creations and its associated companies.
  • Alongside the Directors, Project Managers and Production Manager, develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules for projects going through the companies, ensuring alignment with project timelines and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and makers to understand project requirements and resource needs and facilitate the provision of these.
  • Regularly evaluate workshop capacity and identify potential bottlenecks in the office and production processes.
  • Work closely with the Directors, Production Manager, Project Managers and Workshop Leads to optimise resource allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of crew, materials and tools.
  • Set project deadlines and targets with the Directors, Production Manager, Project Managers and Workshop Leads and review with teams to ensure these are being met.
  • Obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for planning purposes to meet project requirements
  • Work with the Directors, Production Manager, Project Managers and Workshop Leads to forecast and plan for future resource requirements and project workloads.
  • Collaborate with team members quoting for projects to understand upcoming demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
  • Facilitate regular communication between different teams to ensure a seamless flow of information and resources.
  • Provide timely updates on production status, potential delays, and resource constraints to relevant team members.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the company.
  • Maintain schedules company and project-specific schedules, ensuring project data is kept accurate so that reporting and analysis of projects is accurate
  • Process and approve timesheets for the teams.
  • Overseeing logistics of deliveries and installation/de-rigs, working alongside the Project Managers, Production Manager & Directors
  • Implement best practices to enhance overall production effectiveness and reduce lead times.
  • Attend production meetings and other meetings as required.
  • To work in accordance with health and safety guidance.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager or senior management.
  • To undertake training as required.

Skill requirements:

– Proven experience as a Production Scheduler or in a similar role

– Strong analytical skills with the ability to vaticinate production needs

– Knowledge of supply chain principles and systems

– Excellent Excel and Word Skills

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Hours:  Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm

Salary:  £27,000.00 – £32,000.00 per annum

Location:  Based at the Plunge Workshop, Unit 3 Bestwood Works, Drove Road, Portslade BN41 2PA
