We recently made this Captain Scarlet costume for the hero, Lloyd Scot, who will be running the London Marathon in it, on 23rd April this year 2023. Made from the original patterns and moulds used in the 1960s classic show. Scaled up to fit him perfectly.

Across five decades, Mr Scott – who was previously a professional footballer and firefighter – has dressed up as iconic movie characters including Indiana Jones in 2007, as well as Brian the Snail from the Magic Roundabout in 2011, and raised well over 5 million pounds for Charity! He famously took 6 days to complete the Marathon in 2002 dressed in a deep-sea diving suit.

This year, he chose the “indestructible” hero from his childhood after twice beating cancer – in 1989 and 2022.

“The costume has a personal connection because I used to watch Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons when I was a kid, who would always take part in various missions,” he said.

“I feel kind of like him because I’ve sort of done different missions through the marathons, despite things that I have gone through as well – so he definitely struck a chord with me.”

This year he’s running for the national bone and soft tissue cancer charity Sarcoma UK. If you’d like to donate to this worthy cause, visit Mr Scott’s fundraising page. ❤️
