Art trails are all the fashion and for very good reasons. They are a great way of promoting arts, crafts and design for local areas. Not only that, they also connect businesses, artists and communities, as well as attracting new visitors to the area. This year, Stockport joined the list of cities getting involved, with their very own Frog Art Trail.

Back in 2018, Totally Stockport approached Plunge to fabricate an initial design idea for their art trail, the Stockport Strawberry Frog. They used this first fibreglass frog sculpture to promote the art trail and get businesses interested in sponsoring the event.

Once the sponsorship was secured, a further 18 fibreglass frogs were commissioned. We delivered these as blank, primed fibreglass sculptures. Each one ready for decorating by local artists and community groups.

The Giant Leap Frog Artist Trail had it’s launch on 29 June 2019. The nineteen vibrantly painted frog sculptures were dotted around the centre of Stockport.  There’s a downloadable map available, which shows visitors where to find them.  The frogs will be there, on display, until the end of September.  After that, they will be auctioned off. The funds raised in the charity auction will be reinvested to create a Giant Leap legacy fund for Stockport.

To see how much feel good coverage activations like this get, look up #stockportfrogs on Instagram. It’s a happy place.
